On January 16th, 2008, we took the plunge and bought and moved in to a large Finca (farm) near this small town called Montoro, in the province of Cordoba in the Andalucia region of Spain. We had only decided in June to make the move, so we had gone from idea conception to realisation in around 6 months.

This is the house we decided to buy, it is situated in very rural Spain, we have to drive down a 5km(ish) track to get to the house, and although we do have passing traffic, it is a bit of an event and we all go to see who it is.

 

 This building houses two apartments, the one upstairs has been used in the past for winter, because it has a big log burner, and it gets cold in the winter nights, and the downstairs one is cooler for the summer. When we have sold the house and finished the renovation works here we hope to rent out one of these apartments along with a new one we will have built as soon as we have the money.
